“I Can’t Thank You Enough”

(Editor’s Note: Recently, Lynn Chumbler, an EAA Young Eagles pilot, took a young man named Joshua Moody on an exciting flight. Following the flight, Joshua and his mother, Renea, wrote a letter of thanks.)

Lynn,

I wanted to shoot you a line to let you know just how much I appreciate what you do. Taking these kids to a place that only few adults ever get the chance to go is a memory they will carry with them not only in their lifetime, but their children's too. You are a kind and generous man with much more to give than an adventure in the skies. Joshua has not stopped talking about his experience this past Saturday and is eager to take another flight in the future.

My son does not live with me, he lives with his father, and to have given him the chance to see the world from a different point of view (literally) means the world to me, too. Thank you for giving me and my son a connection that was long awaited. I could never truly tell you just how much it means to me to have shared this with him. This is something we will be able to dream and talk about for many years to come, thanks to you, Nancy, and the EAA.

I think he has a new outlook.... to say the least, a new interest, so my hats off to you for the time and effort you have put into sharing with these kids your heart’s passion. I can tell this must have been a dream of yours as a boy, to stand above the tallest tree, to look over the highest mountain, and to soar higher than any bird could ever fly. With the sun in your face, the wind trailing far behind and the clouds at your feet, you've dreamed bigger than most. You have a gift and I can't thank you enough for sharing a little piece of this with Joshua.

My many thanks to you and Nancy for giving so much!!!

Hope to see ya'll again soon.

Joshua and Renea

(Editor’s Note: Have you received a great thank you letter? Have information about a Young Eagle now in the aviation world? Some great pictures? Then share them! Send submissions to sbuss@eaa.org)
