EAA Headquarters – December 3, 2007 – It’s never too early to begin planning for next summer. The EAA Air Academy dates for 2008 have been announced. Now is the perfect time to being seeking qualified candidates from your area.
Young Eagle pilots who fly and register 10 or more Young Eagles during the calendar year, earn credits that can be used to help offset the cost of sending a young person to an Air Academy session. In past years, EAA Chapters and individual pilots often pool their credits to create a larger amount of support for a camper. In fact, one Chapter, EAA 690 (Lawrenceville, GA.) sent seven young people to several 2007 Air Academy sessions.
The Air Academy caters to several different age groups:
Young Eagles Camp - Ages 12 – 13
Basic Camp – Ages 14 – 15
Advnaced Camp – Ages 16 – 18
All campers stay in the beautiful EAA Air Academy Lodge and enjoy the many opportunities available on the EAA Headquarters campus. Many hands-on and classroom activities are scheduled for each camp session, including an opportunity to go flying.
