EAA Young Eagles - Ask the Expert

Question :
Which are the requirements for CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) for ultralights ?

Answer :
To be an ultralight flight instructor you need to receive training from a current ultralight flight instructor so you are a proficient pilot. The instructor will also help you learn how to teach others to fly an ultralight. You will also have to pass a written, an oral and a actual flight test to prove you have the knowledge and ability to be an ultralight instructor.

The current list of ultralight flight instructors can be found here: http://www.eaa.org/ultralights/directory/lookup.html

The forms to complete and submit to EAA can be found here: http://www.eaa.org/ultralights/forms/Flight%20Instructor%20Application%20Form.pdf
