Izzy, That’s an interesting question. In theory, UAVs (or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) could certainly act as the wingmen to piloted fighters when attacking very heavily defended targets. Today, UAVs are commanded from ground stations, and act autonomously (or alone), rather than in formations as manned fighters do. It is certainly possible that pilots could control UAVs from their aircraft, but right now, the technology is not advanced enough to do that. Technology changes fast however! No one would have believed 10 years ago that we could control a combat UAV and destroy a target from half-way around the world like we can today!
