My name is Benjamin Greif. I'm in the 7th grade and am 12 years old. I'm very interested in aerodynamics and am wondering if a bullet was fired going 1000 mph, and you're flying a plane that goes 1,000 mph, the bullet would go 2,000 mph, right? So if a bullet was fired backwards off the end of the plane would it hover and slowly descend to the ground not far from the barrel of the weapon? Basically because I am going 1000 mph, and the bullet is going 1,000 mph I would think it should stay near me, or would it cancel out and just fall? Thank you!

If a jet airplane was built as small as your hand could it still fly?
How many planes have been made since the first flight to now?
What happens if lightning hits an airplane? Are there systems designed to deal with this? If so, how do they differ on different airplanes like Commercial, Military, General Aviation, and Home Built? Is a "composite" aircraft at greater risk then an "all metal" aircraft? And what about static electricity? How does static electricity fit into the picture and what to airplanes do about it?
How do you check and clean an airplane and its motor?
How many modern aircraft do not have flaps?
How many greyhound buses can a C5 Galaxy fit inside?
If a person that was about 5-feet tall and was going to drive a plane that was made four an older an taller person would they be able to drive it?
Hi!
My name is Njaal Nilssen, I'm a 17-year-old Norwegian student at a European Part 147 school located in Bardufoss, Norway.
I'm planning to build my own aircraft, which I have designed myself. All hardware components I'm planning to use are metric, for example I'm using a converted VW 1600cc engine for powerplant and vw wheel hubs. And my question is: does metric hardware like bolts, and nuts exist? All hardware we have at the school is imperial, since almost all of our aircraft are American (Cheyenne, Seneca, Jet Commander, F104, F5, Bell UH1B, and the Swedish SAAB Safir) and I couldn't find any sites on the Internet that has information about metric aircraft certified bolts!

Hello, do you know of any software that may be able to help you design your own aircraft? If so, could you please tell me who makes it or if you can't, could you suggest anyone who can help me?
Thanks,

Can airplanes get struck by lightning? - Sydney
Why aren't flare tube fittings and hose fittings safety wired?
Is it diffuclt for a company(or anyone) to make a high RPM engine? The reason I ask is because I read in a book on aircraft design that said after calculating the power needed for an airplane to fly, you have to account for the fact that you're stuck with a small propeller on a fast engine that lowers overall effiency to 50 percent. Also, if there are lower RPM engines, is there a weight penalty for using them?
