You’ll Need Nerve to Drive the ‘Bullet’

June 16, 2011 — Talk about a speeding bullet.

Although still in the design stage, Phil Pauley claims the Bullet superbike can literally take to the air, thanks to four short wings, a tail fin and a compact jet engine at the rear.

No pilot certificate would be required to operate the Bullet, claims the PhilPauley.com website. But you will need a lot of nerve.

Once the thruster has been turned on, the track performance motorcycle will have enough lift from its extended wings to elevate itself and its rider to over a foot into the air, Pauley claims. This added lift will facilitate much higher speeds that one would expect from a normal track performance motorbike.

The vehicle will also be extremely maneuverable once it’s projected into the air, the website states. The motorbike is projected to go 300-plus mph.

Additional fuel storage is located within the wings.

This isn’t the first motor vehicle designed by Pauley also intended for flight. He has also designed the Halo Intersceptor, a power hybrid, multi functional vehicle, based around one car that can couple with several vehicle attachments to form the basis of private air, sea, and land travel. It can be transformed into a car, a helicopter, an airplane and a boat.
